Indoor and Outdoor Water Fountains

Indoor and outdoor water fountains can turn an ordinary setting into a new and relaxing environment without having to break your checking account.

It used to be that you associated water fountains with the super-rich, in ornate gardens and homes; not anymore.  Today, more and more people are enjoying the tranquility that having the sound of trickling water can bring to a person.  With advances in technology and design, water fountains are popping up everywhere.   Everywhere from back yard escapes to simple desktop models… plus you don’t have to spend tens of thousands.

Outdoor water fountains can include taking advantage of new solar technology that will basically make the entire display self-sufficient.  They can run everything from the pumps to decorative lighting.  If you are an avid gardener, adding a solar garden fountain can give your flower area an entirely new look and feel.    The fountains don’t have to be massive either.  Many times, you can design a layout that can be as small as a few feet square feet that can give you the desired effect.

As pumps became smaller, more efficient and less costly; it opened up a whole new category of being able to bring water fountains indoors to enhance almost any room.   Are you at a stressful job or environment?  Try a small desktop fountain.  They can be as small as a foot high and a few inches in the base, but they can give you a soothing effect.  Feeling stressed, take a few minutes to close your eyes and listen to the water trickling or just tune everything else out as you gaze into the water streaming over the rocks.  It’s like taking a mini-escape and it can do wonders to relieve the stress of the day.

You can find water fountains already assembles and ready to install… ones that you have to put together yourself…. Or you can design and build your own.  It really isn’t that hard to do.  Here are a few things to keep in mind:

-          Map out the area that you want the fountain.  Lay things out on paper.  Figure out what will fit and what won’t

-          Make a list of things that you will need if you are building your own.  Pumps, liners, lighting.

-          Ask for help.  Most retail supply stores will be more than happy to look over your design, give you ideas or suggestions and help you pull all the items that you will need.

Overall, indoor water fountains and outdoor water fountains can turn an ordinary area of your home or garden into a luxurious and soothing retreat.  All it takes is a little imagination and you can be taking your mind off the stress of the day in minutes.
